Why ConsumerPowerline chose Daptiv?
What drove your company to look into a PPM service? What were your motivations, and what were your business needs?
We were using a homebrewed system for virtually all of our business needs, from CRM to Project Management to Document Storage. It eventually became clear that we needed a dedicated Project Management system to keep track of all outstanding project work and progress. In addition, we needed the flexibility to customize the fields to reflect our specific business needs and requirements.
What process did you go through to select a PPM provider? What was your criteria in selecting a PPM provider?
We defined out business needs and the most typical projects on which we need to execute. We then extracted all of the most relevant project management requirements through reverse engineering from the system that we were previously using for everything. Based on those requirements, we looked at several options for Project Management software, including Microsoft Project, as well as othe SaaS-type solutions.
In addition to Daptiv, did you look into other PPM / Business software providers? Why did you choose Daptiv?
- MS Project: not enough ability for collaboration or customization of properties. Not enough reporting functionality.
- Clarion: not as powerful as Daptiv; lacks some important features that Daptiv is able to provide.
- Oracle/SAP: too costly and not well-suited to a small to mid-sized company like ours.
Why did you choose Daptiv?
Daptiv seemed to be the optimal solution for managing the kinds of projects that we usually have. Daptiv allows us to provide other departments with important information, as well as report up to the Executive team.
