eProject Expands OnDemand Project Management Offering With Spring ’07 Edition
New Capabilities Focus on Enhanced Customization and Cross-Project Reporting
Seattle, WA - (Business Wire) - April 2, 2007 - eProject, the OnDemand leader in collaborative project and portfolio management (PPM) software, last week unveiled several new capabilities to its award-winning PPM6 solution, including enhancements to its Advanced Reporting Engine (ARE), expanded power for users to create “do-it-yourself,” custom views across multiple projects, and more than 400 other enhancements. eProject PPM6 Spring ’07 Edition is available immediately to all customers as part of its software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering.
eProject’s PPM6 has been forging new ground as the leading OnDemand collaborative project management offering, with more than 100,000 users at 650 companies relying on the technology to help run their business every day. Today’s enterprise requires highly efficient, collaborative business interactions both internally and externally. Executives, project managers, resource managers, team members and partners must not only collaborate, but excel within their unique daily activities. The flexible, web-based capabilities of PPM6 allow users access to highly relevant views, dashboards and functionality that can easily be customized based on individual preferences, work styles and processes. Many PPM solutions force users to adopt new, unfamiliar, unwieldy processes that cause users more work and oftentimes lead to failed implementations. In addition, the SaaS model reduces excessive upfront costs, deployment time and maintenance costs, and increases adoption rates, customer satisfaction and usability.
“As Grange has rolled out eProject’s PPM6, there’s been tremendous excitement from business managers and department heads who are eager to get their hands on it,” said Sarma Tekumalla, assistant vice president - Project Management Office, Grange Insurance, a $1 billion insurance and financial services provider based in Columbus, Ohio. “Our prior attempts at project management fell short of delivering its stated objectives, but eProject is really delivering for us; we expect to have 500 users on the system by next year. I’ve been very impressed with the new capabilities in the Spring Edition, especially the custom view enhancements and reporting features.”
“As our user base continues to expand and diversify, we are committed to taking full advantage of the OnDemand model by providing seasonal updates so customers always have access to the latest features and functionality,” said Chris Lynch, vice president of engineering. “We are in a constant state of innovation here, and the Spring ’07 Edition is the latest example of delivering on that mission.”
eProject PPM6 Spring ’07 Edition includes:
-- Enhancements to the Advanced Reporting Engine (ARE) will improve reporting performance and let users answer dozens of new questions about their projects via new reporting fields at all levels of the enterprise. Questions can be asked by executives, managers and users in a wide array of topic areas such as portfolio management risk, budgets and costs, and time allocation, availability and productivity.
-- Expanded power for users to create "do-it-yourself," custom views across multiple projects, making their work and collaboration more efficient, and providing more portfolio-level insights for executives as well as the ability to compare outcome/status by region, business group and strategic focus:
-- Project fields are now available in custom views, letting users who have multiple projects sort, group or filter data;
-- Wizards for creating/editing views have been streamlined and simplified, and
-- Long text fields and multi-select "picklist" fields can now be used in user-created views.-- Streamlined team management permissioning enables administrators to give others in the enterprise the ability to add project members. This puts control of project teams in the hands of the project owner, without jeopardizing enterprise configuration or security.
-- More than 400 other enhancements provide added power and efficiency to the user experience, including:
-- Documents enhancements (e.g. download & check out a document at the same time);
-- Dynamic application enhancements (e.g. create a dynamic application using Firefox);
-- Improved Capacity Planner performance, and
-- Microsoft(R) Internet Explorer 7.0 support.
eProject delivers its PPM6 auto-updates via the web, requiring no installation or re-configuration.
