Daptiv Helps Enterprises to Thrive in BYOD Era with Daptiv Mobile, Cloud-Based PPM Platform for Mobile Devices

Seattle, WA — July 25, 2012 — Daptiv, the on-demand leader in project portfolio management software, today announced the launch of Daptiv Mobile, a HTML5-based Web client that enables users to securely manage timesheets, tasks and approvals anywhere from a mobile device. This application complements Daptiv’s cloud-based PPM solution and gives users more choices on how to use Daptiv PPM away from their offices and computers.

In today’s BYOD era, employees are increasingly choosing to use their personal smartphones or tablets in the workforce. This, however, creates a challenge for IT to provision new applications and ensure secure access due to the dozens of disparate platforms and handsets being used by project managers and team members across multiple regions.

Daptiv Mobile makes it simple for enterprises to deploy and for project managers and team members to use. Since Daptiv Mobile leverages HTML5, there is no application to install or maintain. Daptiv Mobile is accessed on the user’s smartphone browser and the application automatically syncs any updates and changes made on a mobile device with Daptiv PPM. Unlike other mobile PPM offerings that are iPhone or Android-specific applications, a single version of Daptiv Mobile caters to clients across multiple mobile platforms - including iOS, Android and Blackberry. This ensures that users experience the same interface across multiple devices.

Daptiv Mobile is a direct result of feedback from Daptiv customers that sought a convenient and easy way to track time, manage timesheets and secure approvals in real-time using their mobile devices. The user interface within Daptiv Mobile has been completely optimized for a mobile environment and features convenient one-click buttons so that many common tasks can be executed with one hand. Team members can securely log on to Daptiv Mobile to enter and track tasks and time quickly and easily using their smartphones. Project managers and executives can oversee and manage approvals in real-time with Daptiv Mobile, minimizing delays when travelling and ensuring projects continue moving forward.

Daptiv has also integrated strong security capabilities into the Daptiv Mobile platform. Daptiv is the first and only SaaS PPM vendor with ISO 27001 and SSAE 16 certification. Data entered through the mobile platform is entered in real-time directly into Daptiv PPM. When the user closes the application, no information is left on the device – a critical consideration should the handset or tablet be lost or stolen.

Echoing the broader industry trend of widespread tablet adoption in the enterprise, Daptiv has seen the number of its customers accessing Daptiv PPM on a tablet increase fivefold in the past year. In particular, Daptiv found that executives are increasingly accessing reports and dashboards in Daptiv PPM on their tablets. To accommodate this growing demand from its customers, Daptiv is evolving its user interface to seamlessly work between the desktop and the tablet, with a continued focus on cloud-based delivery and standards-based cross-platform operability.
